You might know I'm a South London girl (sometimes pronounced 'Sarf London') and am forever making the trek into Central (London) for most fashionable happenings with varying degrees of success, as I'm usually either late or completely lost. Luckily when I was invited to the
Urban Buzz event at the studio in Gipsy Hill, I knew that it wouldn't be far to go and I was looking forward to learning more about this local label. You all know I love a bit of
Swedish fashion and this label was no different, with designer Annette Lennerup's quirky interpretation of London coming out through her designs, named after famous landmarks and places such as
Primrose Hill and the slightly more urban location of
Balham. The private view was a chance to see the studios and some of the designs up close as well as a preview of next season's collection.
How I envy all these patterns
Gorgeous LBD with lace panel
The show also included jewellery by Peter Spillsbury who casts materials such as gold leaf and fossils in multi-coloured resin
I was particularly drawn to the eclectic studio space, as the studios are also shared by a few fine artists, a ceramic designer, a jewellery designer, a signwriter and of course Urban Buzz. It must be such an inspiring space to work in.
I loved the back detail of this reversible dress

Being the leggings fanatic I am, I zoned in on these creations where Annette used photos from a holiday in Spain to create a print. You already know I'm obsessed with these and could see them working with a certain white lace dress and wedge boots. I would ideally be wearing them as camouflage, also by a beach in Spain.
I was also delighted to be able to choose something from the collection.
The London Top intrigued me, with the unusual drape detail giving a new shape to the typical long-sleeved top. The colour blocking makes it ripe for some 80s styling and it's nice and it's a warm way to stay fashionable this winter. Another thing I like about the label, is that all items are
ethically produced and made in Europe, making sure that all factory workers are happy in their surroundings and are paid a decent wage. This top is also made from organic cotton and feels lovely to the touch.
Nice boxy knit from a previous collection
I'd like to thank Annette again for inviting me and I'm looking forward to seeing her future collections.
Remember the
shop!
