Let's cast our minds back to when it was warm enough for a bit of upper thigh last week. Wearing short shorts for me is like the Holy Grail of bottoms, it's hard enough finding the perfect pair and I often feel incredibly self-conscious. Perhaps it's because the majority of people seem to be in jeans and this amount of leg really stands out (pardon the pun) on a tube full of commuters. The main reason I poured myself into this American Apparel pair is that I don't want to regret not wearing something just because of what others might think. It's revealing yes, but there's logic behind it and I try to balance things out with the other items (flats are a must for me). Even if I wanted to wear them with heels, there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. In my determined state, I got dressed, put my sunnies and music on before going about my business. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, to my relief. Am I the only one who overthinks clothing in this way?!
Top - Topshop
Bag - Tomcat Leather
Necklace - Tatty Devine
Bizarrely I ended up wearing this for a few Christmas in July press days. Everything is always so far in advance and I've been covered in fake snow, eating mince pies and sitting on Santas knee (ok the last one is an exaggeration). At least I can plan my list early, I'd quite like a vlogging camera and Babyliss Curl Secret, thank you very much. This top is from my much loved banana print co-ord of last year. I wore it loads when travelling and although people told me that I'd hate my backpacking clothes once I got home, I still love wearing the more memorable pieces. I find that co-ord tops are the perfect length for my short body, as I'm forever confused when I have to tuck in several inches of extra fabric. The shorts are also from last year, I'd originally wanted the sunflower pair and somehow put my practical head on and just went for the navy blue colour. I'm rather tempted by the watermelon print now!
